Calgary Sketch Club Demo Stage 2

This is the next stage from the initial Grisaille underpainting. I plan to add transparent iron oxide yellow glazing to harmonize the overall painting. I rechecked my values using a black and white filter on my iPad and noted that the background in the upper third portion requires lightening.

Right now I feel that this painting is kinda in the ugly stage. I will persevere until I feel satisfied but of course this is a delicate balance since it's way better to have a painting under done and fresh than over done and tired.
